My Story

Honouring the Heroes of Telemark

In the winter of 1943, a small group of Norwegian commandos undertook one of the most daring missions of the Second World War. Under the cover of darkness and braving brutal Arctic conditions, they crossed the vast Hardangervidda plateau to sabotage the Vemork heavy water plant, striking a critical blow to Nazi Germany’s race for the atomic bomb. Their courage, resilience, and refusal to give up in the face of impossible odds became the stuff of legend, later immortalised in The Heroes of Telemark.

More than 80 years later, a dedicated team of commando veterans will retrace every step of that historic journey. The Heroes of Telemark Expedition is not just an endurance challenge; it is a living tribute to the men whose actions shaped history. Crossing the same frozen plateau, sleeping in the same remote huts, and facing the same unforgiving environment, our team will honour their legacy with every mile.

Led by the experienced CS22 Veteran Expeditions CIC team, this expedition will challenge participants physically and mentally, just as it did for the original saboteurs. But it will also offer something deeper: a profound connection to the past, a renewed sense of purpose, and the bonds of camaraderie that come from overcoming hardship together. For many veterans, experiences like this are life-changing.

We are raising funds to support two incredible charities:

CS22 Veteran Expeditions CIC creates transformative expeditions and experiences for veterans.

Rock2Recovery provides vital mental health support to Blue Light workers, serving personnel, veterans, and their families.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us keep the story of these remarkable commandos alive while directly supporting those who continue to serve today. By contributing, you become part of this legacy of resilience, remembrance, and hope.

Join us in honouring the past and empowering our veterans for the future.
